Francesco's and X-Men (For Riley)

Tristan pays extra attention to detail as he dresses for his date with Riley. He doesn't want to come across overly formal, but he doesn't want to dress too casual, either. He decides upon an old favorite of his, an outfit that is both fashionable and comfortable at once.

He has a bouquet of passionflowers and a box of caramel-filled chocolates by his side as he approaches Riley's door, taking care not to breathe in any general direction of plant, the image of Val's displeasure all but burned into his mind.

Taking a deep breath, he works up the courage to ring the door bell after standing nervously before the door for a good few moments.

"Ji-Yun," he says, hoping he pronounces it correctly. "That's beautiful, especially since it comes from your parents' names."

"Well, they're wrong and I'll gladly tell them so," he grins, laughing with her.

She nods at his pronunciation. "That was good!"

"Sure you wanna tell my sister she's wrong?" she winks at him.

"Really?" He says, pleased. "I'm glad. I would hate to mispronounce a beautiful name."

"...on second thought, I can keep it to myself," he agrees, blushing.

Riley smiles softly, ducking her head. "I think you have a natural ability with pronunciation, being bilingual and all."

"Exactly. You can tell Mr. Cod though."

[honeyandwine]

"I do like hearing and learning different languages," he grins, offering her his arm as they start to walk.

"Oh, I will definitely tell him, certainly."

[jiyunnies]

She takes his arm happily. "Speaking of, you owe me some French tonight."

[honeyandwine]

"I do," he agrees, grinning. "Would you like your French now or at dinner?"

"Ummm, now, since I'm pretty sure I'll be paying more attention to food at dinner," she teases.

[honeyandwine]

"I can hardly blame you for that," he teases right back. "Very well then. You are the most beautiful girl I've ever met."

Riley laughs. "I have no idea what you said, but it sounded pretty."

"Merci," he grins wider. "I try."

"Could you say anything in French and it'd sound pretty though? It is French after all."

"Well, there are some ugly words," he grins at her mischievously, before uttering the least attractive French sentence he knows.

Riley makes a face up at him. "Okay, that didn't sound pleasant. What the heck did you just say?"

"Something about snails and back alleyways," he says, trying not to laugh at the expression on her face. "See? French has it's ugly side too."

She laughs. "You're right. French ain't all that," she teases.

[honeyandwine]

"Don't tell that to Parisians," he advises her with a wink. "They might start a revolution over it."

"My lips are sealed," she says with a grin.

He winks at her before offering her his arm as they make their way to the restaurant.

"So, have you ever traveled to anywhere besides America and Korea?"
