After the Hydra incident, Tristan is trying to keep up business as usual, even with the damage done to the front of his shop. Currently, Riley's wonderful enchantment still resides, and Tristan finds himself reluctant to replace such a lovely concoction. So today, Tristan is working on making his wares extra special for customers. He's putting an extra effort to include as many comforting and cheering charms in his food and drinks, and he's offering free snacks/drinks to those who look like they especially need it.



He's in the middle of a newer cheering charm, mixing it into a banana cream pie, when suddenly, he mispronounces a word and an instant reaction of puffed smoke clouds into the air.



He turns to find a reflection of himself in one of his stoves, and he gapes.

"What in the hell?"

(OOC: The ~charm is going to last a bit, and it will keep making reappearances with new Hobbit footage/trailers/the new movie/etc. I regret nothing. >:D)

"As long as Grant Middleton's in town, you'll always have an occasion for it." She wrinkles her nose and smiles at the wink before nodding. "I don't go into the water. I only go on the beach if I'm with someone. So why would I be in danger again?"

Kennedy blinks, pulling the napkin with her drawing out of her pocket again. "I drew everything I saw," she explains, examining her sketch, then her memory flickers to the paintings currently on display in her shop. "I painted a portrait of Riley three days ago. Nothing off about it. The same day, I painted one of the boardwalk with explosions in the sky."

"He always throws such fancy parties, then?" He grins, flipping his hair over his shoulder when it gets in his way.

Tristan chews on his lip as he contemplates the possible meaning.

"So maybe the boardwalk is going to explode? Or what if you get on a boat, or something?"

He really wants to find a way to protect Riley, a desire he now thinks is something more then friendship.

The girl Riley is too busy smiling at Tristan's dramatic hair as it constantly gets in his way. Kennedy agrees it's pretty funny to watch him deal with long hair he's not accustomed to. But she's focused now, something Riley clearly wasn't. "Do you really think the boardwalk would explo--nevermind, what was I thinking. A Hydra just attacked this place."

Still, she doesn't feel like it's anything as big as the boardwalk exploding. She stuffs the drawing back in her pocket, sighing. "I've never tried to bring on a premonition, but maybe I can. I'll try to see more. Maybe get more clues. In the meantime, no boats and stay away from the water, missy."

"Yeah, I don't trust this place not to have like, dragons, compared to what happened last week," Tristan observes, untangling his foot from his long robes. He definitely feels royal in his garb, all right: a royal idiot. But Riley is smiling at him and so he finds he doesn't quite mind.

"Thank you," he turns toward Kennedy, "That would be wonderful. And let me know how I can repay you. In the mean time, I can distract Riley with my flowing blond locks and lack of coordination in this outfit?" He turns back to Riley with a grin.

Kennedy nods, throwing out that she can easily be repaid with more delicious coffee.

"Distract me from what, the water?" Riley laughs. "Don't worry, it won't be hard for you to distract me."

"I promise I'll stay away from the water," she adds, looking to Kennedy who looks like she damn well better not lose another person to her visions.

"Coffee and pie, whenever you'd like," he agrees in Kennedy's direction.

"Is it the crown?" He asks Riley with a rogue wink and a smile. "I have to say, this is not what I imagined when I played dress up as a kid."

"I'm sure you could manage to distract me easily without the getup. The crown will make it very easy to find you in a crowd though." She laughs.

Kennedy rolls her nails across her coffee, wondering if she's imposing on something or not. "You could distract her by kissing her," she chimes in, sipping her drink like she didn't just embarrass everyone in the room. "Just a thought."

"Yep, kind of hard to miss the tall person in a crown," he laughs with her.

Tristan's face burns at Kennedy's words, all the way to the tips of his currently elongated ears. It's not like he's thought of kissing Riley before except actually he totally has, and he's dwelt on how utterly cute she is, and now Kennedy had to go and blurt out his exact thoughts and he doesn't know how to deal with this, oh God.

"Well, I er, um." He lets some of his blonde hair fall in front of his face to hide his blush. He sort of takes refuge in it. "I mean, I'd like to, butmaybewecouldstartwithadatefirst?"

Holy crap, a lot just went down in a matter of seconds and Riley's still reeling from Kennedy's comment when Tristan speaks. He'd like to kiss her?? She backs up a bit, smacking into one of the shelves, and presses a hand onto her burning cheek.



"Um, yup to all that," she blurts out as Kennedy pumps a fist into the air behind Tristan. Riley knows he can't see her, but she's pretty confident he can feel the girl with visions cheering back there.

Tristan looks up when he hears Riley smack into something, and he hurries over to make sure she's okay.



"Careful, or your own potions might get offended," he jokes, fidgeting with his hands as he approaches. It is, of course, impossible to ignore Kennedy's triumphant cheering, but he attempts to anyway.

"So um. I guess this is me asking you out on a date thing. A date," he says, chuckling nervously. "Maybe a dinner and a movie or walk in the park?"

"I think I already offended them today. They'll get over it, I'm sure." She cuts her eyes at Kennedy who puts her hands back at her side and, whistling, turns away to walk around the room like she's 'browsing.'

"Either of those are great for me. Just no water," she smiles. "Dinner and a movie sound perfect, actually."

"They seem to be made of pretty sturdy stuff," Tristan grins, and has to hide a chuckle at the glance Riley throws at Kennedy though he agrees fully with the sentiment.

"Absolutely no water," he nods, "so we'll dine somewhere away from the boardwalk. Any preference for food and movie genres?" He's so happy he might float out of the store, to be honest.

"Don't flatter them too much. They're cocky as is." She's pleased when Kennedy turns her attention away and focuses her attention on Tristan again, smiling as soon as her eyes fall on him. "I really like Italian? And any movies. Actually I love superhero movies the most."

"Oh, Italian, there's that place, Fransceco's? It's supposed to be really excellent," he says excitedly. He is so very pleased, he kind of wants to spin around like the token lovestruck fool in every musical. "And I think the new X-Men movie is out right now?"

"Yeah? I actually haven't been there before. And I'd love to see X-Men with you." She bites her lip, smiling at his excitement.

"I have one condition though. You have to speak French at some point during dinner. I'm a very difficult date like that," Riley jokes.

"Excellent!" He says, smile widening and eyes brightening. "I haven't, either, but I've heard from reputable sources that they make a fantastic lasagna."

"Speak French at an Italian restaurant? Yes, I think I can manage," he agrees with a chuckle.

"I'll trust your sources then." Riley says, laughing. "Um, when would be a good time for this?"
